Caitlin!: I use a program called Paint.Net. I began using it because it is free but now I can't stop using it, mainly because of one specific feature. It's called "soften portrait" (I think) but it is not at all what it sounds. It does kind of the opposite of soften if you turn the softness to zero. I don't meant that it makes it sharper, though. It makes everything gritty and hard..almost dirty, and slightly surreal. I have tried to recreate this effect on other programs but to no avail. I used that feature on the Mackillop picture.
